Implicit Surfaces Bibliography

This bibliography was originally prepared by Jules Bloomenthal from the reference list of Introduction to Implicit Surfaces (Morgan-Kaufmann, 1997). Additional references were provided by Mike Arcuri, Paul Heckbert, Michael Pratt, and Agata Opalach.

Texts paying particular attention to implicit surfaces include An Introduction to Solid Modeling by Mäntylä, Geometric and Solid Modeling: An Introduction by Hoffmann, Generative Modeling for Computer Graphics and CAD by John Snyder, Implicit Objects in Computer Graphics by Gomes and Velho, and The Visualization Toolkit by Schroeder, Martin, and Lorensen.

There are several compendiums relevant to implicit surfaces; these include the course notes for implicit surface tutorials given at SIGGRAPH (1990, 1993, and 1996); the proceedings of the international workshops on implicit surfaces (1995 and 1996); and the course notes for an introduction to implicit surfaces offered at the University of Leeds (1995).
